EU destinationsRequire either a pet passport with page 28 endorsed by an approved vet, or a general health certificate issued no more than 10 days prior to departure, stating that your pet has been examined and is healthy and fit to travel. Please note, some airlines will require your pet have a pet passport AND a general health certificate. Some EU destinations require tick and tape treatment prior to departure, please contact us for more information.
Non EU destinationsThe requirements for shipping pets to a non EU country are as follows. 1. We recommend that your pet(s) be:
2. Please contact the local authorities at your chosen destination to confirm their exact paperwork requirements. 3. A valid Health Certificate must be obtained. 4. If travelling on the Full Pet Passport then this is required to travel with the pet(s). 5. The Health Certificate should be on vet letter headed paper and should show the full description of your pet and the microchip number. It must also state that they are fit to travel and free from any infectious signs of disease. 6. You will also need to have your full UK address and also your overseas address. 7. It must have original signatures by the issuing vet.
USAAll US Flag carriers will also require an acclimation certificate issued by your vet. The destination regulation for the USA are the same for all Airlines flying from the UK to the USA, with one exception. GB flag carriers do not require an acclimation certificate. Far EastMost Far East destinations require a Specific Health Certificate issued by DEFRA and endorsed by a LVI approved vet. This will need to be obtained prior to travel and can take a little while (up to 10 days). PBS can assist in applying for this certificate, (specific to species and country) additionally some countries will require further documentation which we can advise at the time of booking.
AustraliaThere are specific destination requirements for Australia and there will be a 30day quarantine at the 3 quarantine stations: Sydney, Melbourne and Perth, an import permit is required which can take up to two weeks and an Export Health Certificate is required which can also take up to two weeks. PBS can assist in the application. NOTE: Due to there being only 3 quarantine stations, they can get booked well in advance, therefore we recommend this is checked prior to confirming departure dates.
